Abstract

The purpose of the article is to carry out a comprehensive sociological analysis of the existing practices of volunteer activity as a factor in the formation of the students’.personality. The basis of the work is the results of an empirical sociological study conducted among the students of Orel region on this issue. The study analyzes the meaning of the concept of volunteering among modern young people, factors influencing the formation of personality, the influence of volunteer activity on the younger generation, the qualities of a volunteer's personality, motivation, the dynamics of views, and the seriousness of the attitude to volunteering, the qualitative composition of modern volunteers. As a result, the authors draw conclusions that volunteer activity is personally significant, influencing the formation of a conscious, responsible, determined, initiative, enthusiastic, socially mature personality of a young person.
