Abstract

The article shows the formation of scientific criticism based on the analysis of scientific controversy between two outstanding Russian scientists of the XIX century – B.N. Chicherin and V.S. Soloviev, created and defended their scientific concepts of thinking and cognition, based on which they solved the issue of understanding law and morality and their relationship. As a kind of analytical activity, the features of scientific criticism in jurisprudence are singled out, its definition is given.
