Abstract

This study designed a wiki activity and analyzed the characteristics of egocentrism that international students exhibit, focusing on theses as they require a strong writer identity. For this instruction, this study theoretically examined the logical relationship between strengthening egocentrism and weakening writer identity, and explains why the wiki activity presents a good solution. International students’egocentrism characteristics were reviewed, and examples of a writing instruction model, wiki activity, and examples that applied the wiki activity, were presented. This study is meaningful because its design will bolster writing activities, using wiki to focus on both high egocentrism and low writer identity in writing theses.
