Abstract

The paper’s author shows his review of a book about Vasyl Bidnov who was one of talented scientists. He was a historian and an activist of ’Prosvita’ („Enlightenment”). Due to the fall of the Ukrainian People’s Republic this personality emigrated to Czechoslovakia, where he has a strong connection with Ukrainian Free University in Prague. The work „The righteous soul. Vasyl Bidnov in the memoirs of contemporaries” (‘Pravedna dusha. Vasyl Bidnov u spohadakh suchasnykiv’) includes the introduction, which informs about the biography of this personality. Then there are presented memoirs about him collected from well-known sociopolitical and scientific activists-emigrants. An essential part has appendices from documents that refer to Bidnov. The article concludes that the readers received a high-value book of memoirs about this important personality of the scientific and socio-political life of Ukraine at the beginning of the 20th century.
