Abstract

This study proposes effective treatment means for liver health and disease prevention of the abnormal liver function group by verifying the liver function improvement effect of taking milk thistle as a health functional supplement and exercise therapy for the group with impaired liver function.<BR>To achieve the purpose of the study, 16 adult males with AST or ALT exceeding 40 IU/L were recruited. It was carried out for 10 weeks, divided into 8 people in the non-intake group who performed only aerobic exercise but did not take milk thistle and 8 people in the group that took both aerobic exercise and milk thistle.<BR>As a result of the study, both AST and ALT decreased in the non-intake group, but there was no significant difference by measurement period (p>.05), and the ingestion group decreased, showing a significant difference (p<.05), and there was a significant difference between the two groups. In both AST/ALT, it was found that there was a significant effect difference in Time (p<.001) and Time*Group (p<.01). Therefore, when applying aerobic exercise as an exercise therapy for improving liver function in the abnormal liver function group, it is judged that it is recommended to adjust the treatment according to the severity of the AST and ALT test values, because the intake of Mike Thistle is more effective.
