Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive summary of basic information on the AAC for children with speech-language disorders. It covers the nature and extent of the use of AAC in general, explains the ways of using AAC for children with communication disorders and discusses what we need to consider when to use AAC for those children. The purpose is to make available, in a single article, the information someone would need to be acquire a general understanding of how AAC could be applied and function for those specific population.
