Abstract

Nowadays 25.7 thousand km of railway lines of the Russian Federation have been electrified using a single-phase alternating current system of industrial frequency with a voltage of 25 kV. Conditions of constant growth of cargo turnover explain the relevance of the issue of strengthening traction power supply systems, including alternating current, as well as shaping the direction of their further technical development. Thus, an urgent task is to develop a methodology for determining the parameters of 25 kV and 2ґ25 kV AC traction power supply systems, taking into account the use of reinforcing wires. The article discusses the methodology and sequence of calculating the resistance of traction network elements for the two specified systems, and presents the calculation results for the applied wire grades.
