Abstract

The revolutionary events in the Republic of Chad, which began in February 2021, did not attract much attention from the world community. Nevertheless, following the death of the President of the Republic during hostilities, the public became concerned about the future development of the country, which found itself in a severe political and humanitarian crisis. The causes of the conflict did not arise recently, but had accumulated over a period of more than two decades as Chad's political system became more rigid and restricted to the executive branch of government. After the end of hostilities and the transfer of power to the transitional government, the country faced a difficult choice: to continue the line of the late President Idriss Déby Itno, or to start building an inclusive political system that takes into account the interests of tribes and civil opposition.
