Abstract

The article analyzes regional policy in the Russian Federation in the context of modern geopolitical changes. The authors of the study consider the fundamentals of regional policy depending on the existing regulatory framework and a number of factors influencing the formation of local policies on the ground; identify its general directions. Based on a systematic and structural-functional analysis, as well as an institutional approach, the author's team considers the possibilities of increasing the resistance and self-development of regional policy in the context of geopolitical and macroeconomic instability, the transformation of regions into stable political units within the Federation. Based on the research done, as well as the analysis of current global changes, the authors formulate several trends in the further evolution of the regional dimension of politics and come to the conclusion that today it is very important to find a harmonious balance between public administra-tion and regional autonomy.
