Abstract

The government is promoting national-level policies, such as a reduction of working hours, enactment of a leisure activation law, and the establishment of a leisure activation plan in order to revitalize Koreans leisure. In order to evaluate the performance of these policies and set the direction for future policies, it is necessary to analyze the changes in Koreans leisure status and satisfaction. Therefore, this study analyzed changes in the current status of leisure, perception of leisure, and satisfaction of leisure using 2016, 2018, and 2019 National Leisure Activity Survey data, which provides comprehensive information on Koreans leisure. As a result of analysis, Koreans leisure time on weekdays and holidays, average monthly leisure costs were continually increasing. However, in 2019, Koreans satisfaction with weekday and holiday leisure activities, satisfaction with public leisure facilities, and satisfaction with leisure policies were the lowest in the comparative year. However, overall satisfaction in leisure life was highest in 2019 of the comparative year. Lastly, the rate of response that the reason for leisure dissatisfaction was the lack of time was continually increasing. Based on the results of these studies, suggestions were made regarding leisure policy.
