Археологические исследования А.П. Уманского на Алтае (1973-1979 гг.)

Abstract

The article continues a series of publications devoted to the archaeological research of the prominent Siberian scientist Alexei Pavlovich Umansky. Preparing for his doctoral dissertation and a monograph on the history of the “Teleutskaya Zemlitsa” in the 1970s, he annually conducted field archaeological research. The article summarizes the results of the work of the expeditions by A. P. Umansky on Ulalinka, Gryaznovo, Kamen, Maslyaha, Yubilejnyj and other archaeological sites. Particular attention is paid to the long-term cooperation of the Barnaul researcher with the Moscow archaeologist V.A. Mogilnikov, who regularly performed contractual work in the Altai Territory. This allowed solving some material problems and allowed Umansky to conduct practically independent research, but under the auspices of the Moscow Academic Institute. The high methodological level of the work of the Barnaul scientist met the requirements for archaeological research. The article highlights the role of archaeological practice under the leadership of A.P. Umansky for the professional development of a number of scientists of Altai State University. It is concluded that in the 1970s A.P. Umansky not only fruitfully engaged in field archaeological research, but also paid great attention to the generalization and introduction into scientific circulation of the accumulated archaeological sources. Important milestones in this work were the preparation and publication of the archaeological map of the Altai Territory and the scientific publication of materials from Tugozvonovo. Key words: A.P.
