Abstract
Extramedullary plasmacytoma is a rare soft tissue tumor which is a malignant neoplastic proliferation of plasmacytes in reticuloendothelial tissues without invasion to the bone marrow. It accounts for about 1% of all head and neck malignancies and the frequently involved sites are paranasal sinuses, nasal cavity and nasopharynx. Histologic diagnosis should be confirmed and all screening tests are needed to exclude multiple myeloma. The treatment and prognosis are variable in accordance with the clinical appearance. The authors experienced a rare case of multiple extramedullary plasmacytoma arising from both paranasal sinuses in a 68-year-old man. Herein, we report the case with a review of the literature.
