Abstract

The purpose of this study is to classify Taekwondo Gyorugi, Poomsae, and Demonstration Athletes and compare the lower extremity strength to identify the characteristics of each event and to contribute to constructing an appropriate training method. The thickness of the rectus femoris, vastus medialis, and vastus lateralis muscles was measured using ultrasound equipment for 10 people in each group, and Wingate was used for anaerobic power of the lower extremities.
One-way ANOVA and regression were used to confirm the results. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the gyeorugi athletes had thicker rectus femoris and vastus medialis muscles than the poomsae and demonstration athletes, and significantly higher in anaerobic peak power and average power of the lower extremities. The interaction between the muscle thickness and anaerobic power of the lower extremities of the gyeorugi players did not appear significantly.
