Abstract

The article analyzes the use of digital diplomacy tools by the Embassies of the Russian Federation in 22 countries of the Arab world. A review of analytical agencies data presented in the article showed that these are the Arab countries of the Middle East and North Africa where the use of digital technologies increases most rapidly in the world. At the same time, in different countries of the region the audi-ence prefers different social networks. This requires launching Arabic-language information accounts of the offices of the Russian foreign service on all ma-jor Internet sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Insta-gram, YouTube and Snapchat. However, despite the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Rus-sian Federation on modernization of the used in-formation and communication resources, the analy-sis allows to conclude that the majority of Russian Embassies in the countries of the region do not have Arabic-language websites and accounts in the most popular social networks, and therefore cannot ensure the prompt placement of relevant infor-mation, as well as materials reflecting the position of the Russian Federation on the main issues of the foreign policy situation in the world and in the re-gion. The author comes to conclusion that placing the topical content in Arabic on all social networking resources will significantly expand the coverage of Russian cyber diplomacy and will help increase the effectiveness of foreign policy aimed at achieving strategic national goals and ensuring international security in the region.
