Abstract

Goal. Scientifically ensure the functioning of the soil information center as the basis of the system of information support for the rational use and protection of soils of Ukraine. Methods. Collection of soil data, chamber processing, and profile analysis. Results. The specifics of obtaining, verifying, and storing soil data for the “Soils of Ukraine” database were determined. The scientific-methodical foundations of the functioning of the soil information center were developed, which would become the basis for the formation of a unified national database of soil data. A systematized list of attributes was proposed for the creation of data sets that were transferred to the Ukrainian Soil Information Center to enter into the unified database “Soils of Ukraine”. A list of metadata and spatial data of soil profiles in database tables and transfer forms was created. The developed tables can be used for the identification and orderly storage of soil data. Conclusions. The scientific-methodical foundations of the functioning of the soil information center were developed, which include the use of unified data on soil properties, their verification, and the use of transfer tabular forms with rules for their filling by data providers.
