Abstract
The report discusses the issues of transition of the Russian economy to an innovative path of development. A sum- mary assessment of the place of the Russian scientific complex among the countries of the world is presented, an analysis of the level of education in Russia in comparison with developed foreign countries is conducted, and Russia’s share in the world in the production of high-tech goods is noted. Particular attention is paid to the development of the “knowledge economy” and the need to create large innovative world-class companies.
