Abstract

The article actualizes the role of the socio-cultural environment of the university in the formation of professionally significant personal qualities, values of students, their attitude to the chosen direction of training (specialty) as components of personal potential that determines the competitiveness of university graduates in the labor market. The formation of the sociocultural environment in the university is carried out through various areas of educational work. The empirical basis of the article was is based on the materials of the monitoring sociological research «Value Orientations of a Young Specialist», conducted annually at the Ural State University of Railway Transport. The article analyzes the data for 2022. Conclusions are drawn about the positive results of the implementation of the educational work program at the university, expressed in the satisfaction of students with the moral atmosphere at the university, the willingness to work in the chosen direction of training (specialty), to take responsibility for the quality of their lives, in the dissemination of health, family, patriotism values among students.
