Abstract

Innovation is one of the drivers of economic development. Currently, this is an axiom that does not require proof. Gradually, universities began to take an active part in the formation of an innovative environment. Relevant training programs are actively implemented in various areas. Innovation courses have long become part of the educational process. However, in general, there is still no clear methodology that allows us to assess the place and role of the educational subsystem in a higher-level system (the innovation system). The study makes an attempt to systematize existing developments in this area and proposes a set of indicators to assess the role of universities in the formation and functioning of the innovation environment.
