Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze educational needs of invention teachers and students for the development of invention education program of the invention experience education center. Prior to the educational needs survey, 33 provisional topics for students and 16 provisional topics for teacher training that can be applied to the in-depth experience education program of the invention experience education center were selected. As for the survey method, an online survey was conducted through text link, and the survey period was conducted for two months from July to August 2019. Education demand refers to the gap or difference that exists between the desired state of something and the present state, and the formula for calculating education demand by Borich (1980) was used. The results of the research have been summarized as follows; First, in the survey of educational program education needs for invention teachers, for all tentative topics, their current competency level (PCL) is perceived to be lower than the required competency level (RCL). It is urgent to develop more specific and practical research and training programs for the invention training program. Second, it was found that invention teachers had a high need for education for invention education applying the latest technologies such as autonomous driving robots, smart clean restoration projects, and 3D design & printing, as well as professional knowledge related to inventions and patents. In the future, it is necessary to reflect these contents when developing invention training programs for teachers. Third, as a result of analyzing the degree of interest and expected help for the invention education program for elementary and junior high school students, novel toys making, pick-and-pick workshop, invention education using drones, invention designers, invention education activities using images, It was surveyed that it occupies a higher edge than the tentative topic. Since this is a demand for maker education combined with invention education and various interesting activities utilizing advanced technology, various types of invention education programs combined with invention education, engineering technology, and design fusion technology should be developed.
