Abstract

The regulatory documentation in the electrical power industry contains such terms as “technical re-equipment”, “reconstruction”, “expansion”, “modernization”, “repair” and “operation”. Some of them are easily defined while the specific differences of some terms require deeper study of regulatory documents in the technical, legal, account-ing and tax areas. At the same time, the incorrect use of these terms can lead to problems both in industrial activities and in related areas, and lead to precedents in judicial practice. In order to establish the differences between the designated terms, the article provides an analysis of normative documents, analyzing the concepts used in them. It attempts to establish the meaning and scope of the terms and the semantic links between them, while analyzing cases of practical application. The study provides recommendations on the use of each of these terms and a conclusion is made about the need to improve the existing regulatory and methodological framework concerning the modernization of electric power facilities.
