Abstract

The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the relationship between various factors of cyber gambling initiation and problem gambling in adolescents under probation. Recently, domestic studies on the relationship between gambling initiation and problem gambling among adolescents are active, but these studies did not specifically verify which route of initiation causes problem gambling, and the subject of these studies does not include whom under probation. This study conducted a survey on 113 adolescents under probation to find out which factors of cyber gambling initiation leading adolescents to problem gambling. As a result, adolescent under probation were more likely to start gambling after running away from home or for earning pocket money. The significance and limitations of this study were discussed in detail in the conclusion.
