Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the German experience in the field of citizens’ participation in the protection of public order (on the example of the federal state of Bavaria). The legal basis, main functions on the protection of public order of the population, as well as the requirements for persons involved in the protection of public order, measures of material support for such persons are studied (based on the original legislative acts translated by the author). Taking into account the positive German experience, in the article recommendations aimed at improving the activities of persons taking part in the protection of public order in Russia are offered.
