Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of general trends and characteristics of the current state of the Chinese education system. The author analyzes the dynamics of important indicators of education development, such as the number of universities, the number of university students, the ratio of students to the total population, as well as some qualitative indicators. Much attention was paid to the importance and prospects of state support for all levels of the Chinese education system. As recommendations, the necessity of creating state (federal) and regional systems for forecasting and monitoring the current and future needs of the labor market in personnel of various specialties and qualifications, including taking into account global trends, is justified; the creation of a modern, mobile and flexible system of continuing professional education (as an integral part of the general system of continuing education), including vocational education at all levels.
