Abstract

At the heart of solving regional problems related to the development of territories, a special place is occupied by the development of agglomerations as one of the forms of territorial space. Current-ly, the existence of such agglomerations as urban, non-urban and rural, regional and international is associated with the lack of an interpretation enshrined in law. Analyzing various approaches to the formulation of agglomeration, one can notice that agglomerations are formed around large cities, therefore they belong to large urban agglomerations. It is assumed that the agglomeration process is accompanied by urbanization, population migration and other factors. Unlike Western countries, where the stage of urbanization has ended, in our country the migration of population to large cities continues. The development of rural agglomerations can become the basis for the sus-tainable development of agriculture, both in individual regions and the country as a whole. In Russia, it is possible to develop rural agglomerations in the area of one settlement and agglomera-tions with several interconnected settlements.
