Abstract

The paper examines the history of the emergence and development of some systems for automated text analysis in Russian in the laboratory of the St. Petersburg Economic and Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From the beginning of the 90s to the present, the team has persistently tried to increase the degree of automation and accuracy of the resulting text analysis results. The emergence of the semantic dictionary of V. A. Tuzov played a huge role in improving the quality of text analysis and allowed many systems to become a serious tool for sociologists and economists. The development and replenishment of the semantic dictionary (the number of words has almost doubled during this time) made it possible to achieve quite significant success at the linguistic level. The semantic-syntactic analyzer (parser) SemSin developed by us is quite consistent with the modern level and can serve as a starting point for further development
