Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of issues related to the research and artistic popularization of the choral sacred and musical heritage of the outstanding Ukrainian composer M. M. Skoryk (1938–2020). The article aims to highlight the interpretive and performing aspects, which reflect the algorithm of awareness of the conductor and choristers of the original semantic concepts laid down by the artist in the musical text in the process of rethinking religious images. To achieve this goal, the authors made a comprehensive analysis of the triptych by M. Skoryk's «Three Psalms», based on poems of Taras Shevchenko. Particular attention is paid to the section «God save me» (Ps.53), which summarizes the figurative and semantic features inherent in the other two parts of the cycle. A significant emphasis in the publication is made on the comparative analysis of different versions of the spiritual triptych «Three Psalms». All this together determines the scientific novelty and relevance of the study, as one in which the sacred sphere of M. Skoryk's work appears considered, both from the standpoint of musical-theoretical and interpretive-performing perspectives.
