Abstract
The problem of legal formulae as elements of a legal text is issued. On the basis of a contextual approach to the allocation of formulae as an element of a legal text, the definitions of a legal formulae in the broad and narrow senses are proposed, the types of legal formulae in Russian law are distinguished. The essence of legal formulae is determined as the part of narrative and communicative approaches to law. It is noted that the unified approaches to legal formulae will contribute to the creation of a common conceptual and categorical apparatus and the formation of a single interdisciplinary research field.
