Abstract

This study aimed to compare and analyze living environment factors affecting life satisfaction for elderly people living alone and elderly couples. For this purpose, data from the 2020 Survey on the Status of the Elderly were used, and multiple regression analysis was conducted.
 As a result of the analysis, it was found that the living environment factors affecting the life satisfaction of the elderly living alone and the elderly couple were similar. In addition, important factors were analyzed to be friends and community relationships, economic status, social, leisure, and cultural activities, health status, and relationships with children.
 This study is significant in that it examined how the residential and living environments distributed around us act as life satisfaction for the elderly. The results of this study can be used as basic data to improve policies to increase the life satisfaction of the elderly in the future.
