Abstract

The article considers an urgent problem of modern literary criticism - the study of spiritual prose, which occupies a borderline position between the secular and ecclesiastical spheres. In the center of the artistic analysis is the genre-diverse literary heritage of Abbess Taisiya (Solopova), a famous Orthodox ascetic founder of the Leushinsky John the Baptist Monastery, a relative of A. S. Pushkin, a talented writer of the late XIX - early XX century. The topic of spiritual mentoring is considered in different aspects: the image of the spiritual father, the relationship between the starets and the novice, the inner evolution of the main character.
