Abstract

Based on “positive psychology” and emotional hierarchy theory along with the multi-disciplinary integration, this paper analyzes the elements of animation film character design. Taking the instinct level, behavior level, and reflection level as the research objects, analyzes the design elements of animation film character form, behavior design, and content design. Through expert interviews, expert questionnaires using AHP analysis to design an animation character design model with increased psychological dimension. The animation character design model is used to analyze the youth group preference, and ANOVA is used to analyze the different attitudes of young users to the needs of animation character design. So as to make better use of the entertainment and education of animated film characters to enhance the positive emotional experience of young users. From the perspective of positive psychology, it provides scientific guidance for the multi-disciplinary integration research of animation film character design, increases theoretical reference and practical research examples for the research in the field of animation psychology, and makes up for the blank of discipline research. This paper intends to provide design reference for animation practitioners, understand the design needs of animation film characters of young users, increase the interactive experience between characters and audiences, and give young people more positive emotional life attitude guidance.
