Abstract

In this paper, a qualitative analysis of the features of Russian English presented in the field of modern Russian music is conducted. The model of musical discourse is employed to identify the main distinctive features and specificity of functioning, which are characteristic of the acrolectal, mesolectal and basilectal levels or subvariants. Russian English is shown to be an authentic part of the global discourse of popular music
