Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for in-depth understanding on value orientation of physical directors and quality improvement of teaching and learning by investigating intended and actual value orientation. This study was conducted in one of the qualitative research methods, the ethnographic method. 6 teachers were selected as research participants through snowball sampling method, and collected data through in-depth interview and documentation resources. The obtained data was analyzed through inductive categorical system. The following is the result of the study based on these analyses. Intended and actual value orientation of homeroom teachers, physical education teacher and sport instructor differ. In addition, the research participants mentioned that experience of ‘past physical education class’ had a great influence on the background of formation of intended value orientation. In addition to the influence of the past physical education class, the background of the actual value orientation is due to various backgrounds such as social problems, responsibility as teacher, graduate school admission, fellow scholarship, class evaluation, actual school experience, And it was found that it affected. In Summary, physical education class in elementary, middle, and high schools is playing the most vital role in forming awareness of physical education, and this awareness is making effect on value orientation of PE class.
