Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the policy-making process for the activation of seafood exports of Korea. This study used both theoretical and practical perspectives. The step-by-step process of policy-making to activate seafood exports is reasonable and theoretically acceptable, but the analysis of actual consumers’ opinions showed that the competitiveness of Korea’s exported seafood was weak compared to those of comparable countries. However it was confirmed that those opinions of actual consumers were reflected in the policies through legislation and by statutory plans.
