Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine various discourses and measures for unification after the division of the Korean Peninsula. Based on this, this study seeks to explore the unification discourse and unification measures on the Korean Peninsula that we should pursue. After discussing the meaning and correlation of unification policy, North Korea policy, and unification discourse, this study examined how the discourse on unification in Korean society developed. As a result, the focus changed depending on the government, but it was promoted in a complex manner. It is not completely neglecting other issues. Therefore, in this study, it was suggested that the new theory of unification aims for the “parallel” of unification and peace, not the “first and Later”.
