Abstract

The Andrianovka Formation exposed in the Sredinny Ridge (Kamchatka) is represented by green shales, quartzites, and amphibolites. Conclusions about the age of the deposits of the Andrianovka Formation were made on the basis of data on the ages of the underlying and/or overlying strata, and correlations with other structural units. For the first time, radiolarians of the Santonian-Early Campanian age were extracted from the least metamorphosed siliceous rocks of the Andrianovka Formation. The rocks of the Andrianovka Formation can be considered as a metamorphic analogue of the deposits of the Iruney Formation, which Santonian-Early Campanian radiolarians were also isolated from.
