Abstract
The article contains a brief historical digression using a program-oriented approach to rural development in the post-reform period. The characteristics of the State program of the Russian Federation "Integrated rural development" with an assessment of financial support are given. The directions of improving the program-target approach in terms of modern rural development are proposed.
