Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify the specifics of sociocultural crises as factors in the development of the discreteness of historical consciousness. In the article, the author focuses on such a phenomenon as sociocultural crises occurring in different historical epochs under the influence of a complex of internal and external factors that have a destructive effect on the historical consciousness of society. The scientific novelty is the identification of the discreteness of historical consciousness as a special characteristic and the identification of the interdependence of the degree of discreteness and socio-cultural transformations. As a result of the study, it was revealed that in conditions of socio-cultural crises, conditions are created for a fundamental transformation of the entire way of life of society, which, "tearing" the historical consciousness, contributes to the prolongation of crisis conditions and other destructive phenomena.
