Патриотизм как идейная основа формирования российской гражданской нации

Abstract

The research objectives are as follows: to analyze the Russian civil nation conception, to reveal the role and importance of patriotism as the Russian national idea in the civil nation formation. The author shows that ethnic and confessional diversity focused on patriotism, on creative development of a certain individual and the whole ethnic community contributes to forming new socio-cultural and spiritual values which can serve as a basis of coexistence in the multiethnic and multi-confessional community. Scientific originality of the study involves justifying the key role of patriotism as a matrix of the Russian civilizational and civil identity. The following conclusions are justified: a new approach to nation-building is based on the Russian civil patriotism and lays an emphasis on civil unity, civil nation, but ethnicity remains an important factor in the Russian everyday life, ethnic diversity secures unity and integrity of the Russian society.
