Abstract
Objectives The purposes of this study was to propose future research direction by analyzing the research trends on the journal of the ‘work-study combination’ in Korea.
 Methods 110 domestic researches of the work-study combination published from 2013 to March of 2022 in Korea were examined the characteristics of the subjects and methods. Then keywords of researches except ‘work-study combination’ that is commonly used were performed by the keyword network analysis to analyze keyword network structure and centrality by using Gephi 0.9.
 Results Papers were published mainly in 2019 and 2020, when the ‘Work-Study Combination Act’ was enacted and implemented. It was focused on commitment, satisfaction, performance in participating company as well as the education and training method and program design of the work-study combination. In particular ‘apprenticeship training’ was highly positioned at degree, eigen vector, closeness, and betweenness centrality.
 Conclusions The ‘work-study combination’ in Korea has been conducted not by the industry but the government in a short time. In order to take root in industry as a healthy vocational education and training model as well as qualitative growth in the future, spontaneous movement of the key members like as business owner, corporate on-site trainer, participating employee is mostly needed. Also it is necessary to study the methodological discussions on apprenticeship training and the experiences of the participating employee who is not a simple participant as employee but a positive participant who has willing to trained.
