Abstract

Currently, testing is considered a key component of the educational process and, unlike the traditional form of assessment, has a high degree of reliability and objectivity. The testing process occupies a special place in addressing issues of diagnosis, monitoring, analysis, measurement and assessment of the quality of education. The article provides an analytical review of the problems of testing and its application in the educational process. The concepts of “test”, “test tasks”, “testing” in the science of testology have been clarified. A number of test task criteria have been defined. A classification of the form of test tasks is presented and several options for creating open and closed type tasks are considered using the example of the school subject “Chemistry”. It is shown that creating test items requires significant theoretical and practical preparation.
