Abstract

The flight at supersonic speed requires coordination of the operation modes of the air intake and the engine, which are part of the power plant. Relying on the results of the experiment — blowdown in a supersonic wind tunnel and developing an electronic model, the study comprehensively analyses the most efficient configuration of the inlet device of the power plant of an advanced business aircraft. Findings of the research make it possible to assess the efficiency of the configuration for the given engine parameters and estimate the impact and future prospects for the use of an air intake when improving the engine or installing a new one. This is especially important in terms of the cost of further research, since the appropriate mathematical model leads to reducing costs for experimental blowdowns in more complex design cases.
