Abstract
해도의 심벌은 종이해도 심벌 표준인 INT1을 사용하며 이를 기반으로 제작된 전자 장비를 위한 심벌 표준 S-52를 사용해 왔다. 오래 사용해왔던 S-52의 보완과 정보의 다양한 표현을 위해 국제수로기구에서는 새로운 수로교환 표준인 S-100을 만들었으며 이를 기반으로 차세대 전자해도를 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 한국형 e-Navigation 프로젝트의 일환으로 선박용 전자해도에 표시해야 하는 해양 안전정보인 해양 보호 구역, 해양 라디오 서비스, 항해 경고, 해양 관제 시스템, 선저여유수심관리의 심벌개선 연구를 진행한 결과이다. 심벌 용례 및 표준을 분석하고 분석된 정보를 바탕으로 새로운 심벌 제작 및 디자인 개선사항을 파악하여 적용하였다. 또한 심벌 표현에 발생하는 중첩 또는 중복 이슈를 도출하고 향후 개발에 도움이 될 수 있는 대안을 제시하였다.
