Abstract
The article presents an attempt of analyzing the names of professions representing a branch terminological system. The projections of profession names are considered from the perspective of sociolinguistics. The author explicates the development of certain thematic groups, the dynamism of which is realized in the emergence of new branch terminological systems and in the replenishment of the existing ones. The names of professions, being a part of a certain conceptual system, call narrow specialties belonging only to the analyzed branch terminological system. In the canine LSP, the group that names professions is represented by a broad corpus of names.
