Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the process of development of ideas about market models, identified in accordance with the type of competition. To do this, the paper provides a review of the teachings on the theory of competition from the earliest representatives of economic science and later authors. Their main ideas are refl ected, on the basis of which the process of changing scientifi c ideas about the operation of the market mechanism is studied, the omissions of the authors of the previous stages of the development of thought are described. The field of analysis includes a review of existing competitive markets based on the theory derived from the review of the exercises. Based on this review, the current market situation and the current look of market models are described.
