Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe that sports club activities of university entrants change strength related to health and school life adaptation, and to prove a connection between two variables. For this, 22 entrants joining a sports club and 20 entrants who do not join a club are selected, so a change of strength related to health and Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire(SACQ) is measured. Two-way repeated ANOVA, pearson’s correlation, and Simple regression analysis are conducted by SPSS 20.0. sports club activities increase cardiorespiratory endurance significantly, so an effect is verified, and academic adaptation, physical adaptation, and attachment to university increase through sports club activities. In addition, a change of muscle endurance and cardiorespiratory endurance of strength factors related to health affects a change in sub-factors of school life adaptation. That is, sports club activities change cardiorespiratory endurance and physical confidence through this acts on school life adaptation. Based on this result, universities should invigorate a sports club and prepare policy support to promote participation in sports of university entrants. In addition, it is difficult to generalize by the limit that this study is limited to clubs of particular events. In a follow-up study, an in-depth study is needed through comparison with various sports clubs and other clubs of culture and art.
