Abstract

Objectives The purpose of this study is to introduce application of flipped learning in <Korean Education and Media Language> class, which are major subjects of Korean language education, and to examine their significance.
 Methods Therefore, this study examined the effects and limitations of flipped learning-based classes by proposing the class composition of the <Korean Education and Media Language> class operated in a flipped learning method and analyzing learning outcomes, learners reflective journal, and class satisfaction.
 Results As a result of the analysis, the students were able to engage in advanced learning activities and have practical opportunities to improve their practical skills. In addition, it was confirmed that active interaction between professors and students was possible, and that learners self-direction could be enhanced. However, some parts to be supplemented, such as the increased amount of learning, the burden of learners on tasks and collaborative activities, were also confirmed.
 Conclusions This study is meaningful as a study that proposes the composition of the class by applying flipped learning to Korean language education major subjects and confirms the effectiveness and limitations of the class. This study expects follow-up studies to overcome the improvement tasks of flipped learning classes, such as the amount of learning and the burden of collaborative activities, and to enhance the effectiveness of flipped learning.
