Abstract

The article examines the peculiarities of the sustainable development of territorial communities in the context of decentralization changes. The relevance of the article is determined by the fact that the sustainable development of territorial communities in the context of decentralization changes means the process of creating and supporting self-sufficient communities at the local level, which are able to ensure the growth of the quality of life of the population over a long period. It was noted that this development includes economic, social and environmental development, ensuring effective management of resources and services, as well as a balanced approach to the distribution of functions and powers between central and local authorities. It is noted that the basis of such development is a territorial community, in which the constituent parts are interconnected, occupy a significant territory and spend significant resources for their own development. The purpose of the article is to study the features of sustainable development of territorial communities in the context of decentralization changes at the current stage of development of the Ukrainian state. Research methods that will be used in the process of writing the article are the method of analysis and synthesis, abstract-logical and comparison, which made it possible to present well-founded conclusions and proposals. It is summarized that in modern conditions it is important to recognize that the promising directions of the state's development are determined by the effective functioning of territorial communities in the context of ensuring their sustainable development, and the basis for this should be decentralization changes aimed at reformatting territorial relations. The practical value of the article lies in substantiating proposals for overcoming challenges in the field of sustainable development of territorial communities and proving the importance of ensuring effective interaction of all parties to sustainable development and increasing the level of responsibility of both state and local authorities in the context of implementing effective decentralization changes.
