Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the parenting experiences and meaning of
 single-parent fathers with children with developmental disabilities, and to understand what support
 single-parent fathers need to raise children with disabilities.
 Methods: This study collected and analyzed data through individual interviews with three single-parent
 fathers raising children with developmental disabilities in the K area, and the experience of fathers
 raising children with developmental disabilities through coding processes was themed.
 Results: Participants in the study experienced trial due to divorce and disability children, double
 distress in life due to work and raising children with disabilities, and change in small hope, and
 accordingly, requests for support from single-parent families with children with disabilities 
 Conclusion: The significance of the study is to examine the support and role that should be provided
 in the field of special education so that single-parent fathers can minimize the difficulties they face
 in raising children with disabilities and experience positive results in their children's upbringing and
 education.
