Abstract
The olfactory dysfunction is one of the clinical manifestations of coronavirus infection. Unlike a decrease in the sense of smell, which can be observed with mucosal edema in influenza and other acute respiratory infections, with coronavirus infection, there is often a complete shutdown of the sense of smell – anosmia. This condition can be observed in patients not only in the acute period of infection, but also persist for a long time during the period of convalescence, which significantly reduces the quality of life of such patients. The presented clinical analysis shows, using examples from clinical practice, various variants of the influence of olfactory dysfunction disorders on the quality of life of patients and emphasizes the importance of the problem for the healthcare provider. Key words: coronavirus infection, anosmia, parosmia
