Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis and conceptualization of the concept of “digital transformation” by considering it in the context of social and economic changes in modern society. The process of digitalization is presented as a consequence of society’s transition to a post-industrial society, in which knowledge and in-formation become the fundamental resources, and technocrats and highly qualified specialists occupy key positions. It is emphasized that digital transformation carried out by people and for people stresses the im-portance of analyzing its implications for society. Based on the analysis of various sources of literature and the use of methods of analysis, synthesis and induction, the article concludes that it is necessary to adapt to new realities, where the digital maturity of the population and its openness to new technologies become the deter-mining factors of progress. Attention is also focused on changes in public administration, which should become more open and citizen-oriented. In conclusion, the article summarizes the results, which emphasize the com-plexity and versatility of the digital transformation process and draw attention to the need for active participation of society and its readiness for change for the successful realization of the potential of digital technologies.
